QUIET FOR NOW UNTIL JANUARY

December is a busy month at our Dojo. We have Gradings, and the Christmas Social. To Grade all the Kyu Levels and to have Dan Mock Grading it usually takes about two weeks. Now that the Gradings and the Social are behind us we get a chance to relax. Even if it is for a brief moment as Christmas is always a busy time for people in general. Even for Karateka. January is upon us and I look forward to our New Year's Training. We hold our Annual Kagami Biraki usually in the second week of January. It's a day long Training Event. We do Train hard. It's a lot of fun as we do a lot more Sparring. And I love Sparring. The purpose of the Kagami Biraki is to begin the new year with new and good intentions, reflecting and meditating on the previous year, and "breaking the mirror" means "to break the image of ourselves in the old year". Also January is when many will be Training hard for their up and coming Dan Grading which happens in February. Where our Dojo will be visited in February by Shiomitsu Sensei and we all will have a few days of being taught by him at his Special Clinic. Those are always fun.
